Funaro & Camerlengo has re-released their Berwind-White BW-1 hopper as a one-piece body. The hopper was previously offered as a flat kit.
These cars roamed the entire U.S. from 1940-1965, then most were sold to the PRR and were in non-revenue service lasting until early Conrail. New River and Pocahontas had the same cars.
The Berwind-White company was based near Johnstown, Pa., and had dozens of mines that connected to the world through the Pennsy at South Fork, Pa. They regularly moved eastward in solid blocks.
