HO Scale: PRR X37, X37A Box Cars Released

In conjunction with the 2016 annual meeting of the PRRT&HS, Funaro & Camerlengo has released resin kits for the PRR X37 and X37 box cars.

The X37 class were numbered 65400-66399, 1000 cars total, and featured a 7 foot Youngstown door. They were built in 1939-1940 by the PRR and featured 5/5 dreadnaught ends, 10 panel sides (5 each side of door), an AAR shape side sill, a wood roofwalk, 6 rung elevated ladders - grab iron for 7th bottom rung, X29 Style lap panel roof w/ depressions for end walks, and some were equipped with racks for auto parts.

The X37A class were numbered 66400-66899, 500 cars total, and featured a 7 foot main door with a 6 foot auxiliary door, both Youngstown. They were built in 1940 by the PRR and featured 5/5 dreadnaught ends, 9 panel sides (4 to left, 5 to right of door), straight side sills, a wood roofwalk, 6 rung elevated ladders - grab iron for 7th bottom rung, X29 Style lap panel roof w/ depressions for end walks, and equipped with racks for automobile batteries and side panels.

The X37B is planned, but not released at this time.
