Layout Era: 1920's
Layout Theme: Backwoods narrow gauge in Pennsylvania serving lumber, wood products, and mining industries.
Layout is in a approx. 27' X 32' basement space. Sn3 is dominant, but S and Sn2 are also represented. All track is handlaid including some dual S/Sn3 and Sn3/Sn2. It is under construction, but the S and Sn3 mainlines and one logging branch are operational. There is an operating incline on the one logging branch. Scenery has been started and many structures have been built including two sawmills with interior detail, a coal mine, and a large mill.
The Lehigh & Western is the 3' gauge common carrier railroad. It is owned by the Moyer Lumber Co., which also owns a logging railroad and some of its own tracks. The L&W interchanges with a branch of the standard gauge Spiral Hill Railroad which runs between a dual gauge yard and staging. The 2' gauge Jamestown & Jennville also operates in the area and interchanges with both the standard and 3' gauges. The L&W and SH mostly use rod steam locomotives, while the MLCo. mostly uses geared steam locomotives. Most of the MLCo's operations are on the 3' gauge but it also operates on the standard gauge.
