The Makeup of Trains book provides instruction to passenger yard crews as to the makeup of each and every train, variances by the days of the week, sleeper car names assigned to protect service, etc.

Substitutes of equal features were made when the car specified was unavailable. CT220 reports, on the other hand, report the cars in a train on a specific day. The CT220 report should be close to what is specified in the Makeup of Trains.
